We calculate design wind pressure for your specific building height and location using ASCE 7 standards. Higher floors experience exponentially greater wind loads, requiring thicker glass, laminated interlayers, or structural glazing systems. We specify glass that meets or exceeds code requirements for your floor level.
High-rise units face unique thermal challenges -- greater wind exposure increases heat loss in winter and solar gain in summer. We specify Low-E coatings, argon gas fills, and thermally broken frames appropriate for your elevation and orientation. South and west-facing units get different coatings than north-facing units.
Higher floors often experience more wind noise and helicopter traffic, while lower floors contend with street noise. We match glass thickness and lamination to your acoustic environment. Laminated glass with PVB interlayers can reduce noise transmission by 5-10 dB compared to standard IGUs.
