Frameless Glass Walls

Full-height ultra-clear glass panels with no visible frame. The purest expression of glass architecture -- nothing between you and your collection but.

Glass Doors

Hinged, sliding, or pivot glass doors with premium hardware. Each door is designed for an airtight seal that maintains your cellar climate every time you.

Engineering

Climate Control Integration

A wine cellar is only as good as its climate envelope. Our glass systems are engineered to maintain the precise 55 degrees Fahrenheit and 60 to 70 percent humidity that wine requires -- without condensation, without temperature fluctuation.

Common Questions

Wine Cellar Glass FAQ

How does a glass wine cellar maintain the right temperature?
Glass wine cellars maintain temperature through insulated glass panels, thermally broken frames, precision weatherstripping, and a properly sized cooling unit. The insulated glass units (two panes separated by an argon-filled gap with low-E coatings) create a thermal barrier that prevents heat transfer. Thermally broken aluminum frames have a non-conductive bridge that stops heat from traveling through the metal. Vapor barriers in the surrounding walls complete the climate envelope.
Does wine cellar glass block UV light?
Yes. We use glass with UV-filtering interlayers or UV-protective coatings that block over 99 percent of harmful ultraviolet radiation. UV light causes premature aging and off-flavors in wine. Our glass protects your collection while allowing full visual enjoyment of your bottles and labels.
Will condensation form on the glass?
Condensation is the primary engineering challenge with glass wine cellars. We prevent it by using insulated glass units with low-E coatings, thermally broken frames, and comprehensive weatherstripping. The cooling unit must be properly sized for the room volume (not undersized or oversized), and vapor barriers must be correctly installed in surrounding walls and ceiling. When all elements work together, condensation is eliminated.
What sizes and configurations are available?
We build glass wine cellars from compact under-stair conversions holding 50 bottles to full walk-in rooms holding 2,000 or more bottles. Configurations include single glass walls, L-shaped enclosures, full four-sided rooms, and pass-through display cellars. Every project is custom measured and fabricated to fit your exact space.
What type of glass is best for wine cellars?
We typically recommend half-inch ultra-clear low-iron glass (Starphire). Low-iron glass eliminates the green tint found in standard glass, letting you see the true colors of your wine labels, racking, and interior lighting. For climate control, we use insulated glass units with two panes separated by an argon-filled gap and low-E coatings for maximum thermal performance.
Do you handle the cooling system and wine racks?
We specialize exclusively in the glass enclosure -- walls, doors, and hardware. However, we coordinate closely with your HVAC specialist, custom racking designer, and general contractor to ensure perfect integration. We provide detailed drawings and specifications so their systems interface seamlessly with our glass envelope.
