Whether it is a window marred by construction debris, a glass tabletop with surface scratches, or a storefront scuffed by vandalism -- we assess the damage and recommend the most cost-effective solution.
From light buffing to full pane replacement, we handle glass scratches of every severity.
Not all scratches are equal. We evaluate depth, length, location, and glass type to determine whether buffing can restore clarity or if replacement is the better investment.
Surface-level scratches from cleaning, pet claws, or minor abrasion can often be polished out using cerium oxide compounds and professional buffing equipment without replacing the glass.
Scratches you can feel with your fingernail have penetrated beyond the surface layer. Deep scratches on tempered glass cannot be buffed without compromising structural integrity -- replacement is required.
When scratches are too deep, too numerous, or on tempered/laminated safety glass, full pane replacement is the correct solution. We measure, cut, and install new glass -- often same day.
Storefront glass, lobby partitions, and commercial windows scratched by construction debris, pressure washing overspray, or vandalism. We assess and restore or replace as needed.
Construction sites frequently leave scratches on glass from stucco, concrete, grinder sparks, and paint scraping. We work with contractors and property managers to assess and resolve post-construction glass damage.
The fingernail test is the simplest way to assess scratch depth. Run your fingernail across the scratch and see what you feel.
Tempered glass (used in shower doors, tabletops, sidelights, and some windows) has a compressed surface layer. Buffing removes material from this layer, disrupting the balance of forces that makes the glass strong. This can cause spontaneous shattering days or weeks later. We never buff tempered glass -- replacement is the only safe option.
We will tell you honestly whether your glass can be restored or needs replacement. Free assessment across the entire DMV area.
